Substances extracted from plant biomass to control weeds, fungal diseases and pest insects in agricultural crops

The Pro Civis Foundation, in cooperation with InnEco Ltd. based on a demonstration plant (Demo scale), is conducting a Slow Thermal Biomass Refinery (STBR) process directed at extracting liquid substances from plant biomass. About 60% of those extracted chemical molecules are inorganic and easily water-soluble compounds, and the second group (about 40%) are oily and flammable substances, which are organic compounds with C12 carbon content.

Chemical analysis identified the presence of chemical compounds that have applications in agriculture and horticulture as plant protection products, for the control of weeds, pests and fungal diseases. Based on these analyses, field experimental work directed at determining the spectrum and effectiveness of selected substances, as well as their mixtures, in plant protection is being carried out.
